Applications
SIMATIC NET FastConnect glass fiber-optic cables are used to construct optical indoor and outdoor Industrial Ethernet/PROFINET and PROFIBUS networks. Devices with integral optical interface (LC or ST/BFOC connection technology) include optical link modules (OLM) and SCALANCE X Industrial Ethernet switches, for example.
FastConnect glass fiber-optic cables are to be assembled on site using FastConnect FC LC or FC ST/BFOC connectors. Two FC FO assembly cases are available for this purpose. They enable stripping and “cleaving” of the fiber in the assembled connector, as is familiar from PCF fiber-optic cables. For ST/BFOC connectors, the ST/BFOC coupler can be used to extend existing lines
